In the Flesh. The Foundry Expert Flesh Set

Over the years, I've led a continuous search for a favorite set of flesh tone paints. Earlier this year, after reading posts by Giles over at Tarleton's Quarter, I decided to try the Foundry Expert Flesh set. Time slipping away as it does, I only recently had the opportunity to finally use the paints I had acquired this spring. Below is a quick photo sequence following the use of the set from primed figure to final flesh stage. Hopefully this will help people see what they can expect from the set, albeit through the use of my questionable brushwork.

  1. Well worth the effort as the final stage looks great.

    1. Thanks Michael, at each step I was wondering if it would all come together.

    1. A blessing and a curse. Now I have to see if I have the intestinal fortitude to do a whole regiment or warband with the set.

    1. Thank you, Jason. Looking at your blog I spied a few Andrea Paints. I have that flesh set as well and would like to do a full stage comparison. I'm a big fan of their other sets.

BTW, I can't stop admiring your War Room.

  4. Awesome! I love their flesh triad. I only wish I could afford a whole set of Foundry and take the guesswork out of triads. Love your new blog layout too!

    1. You and me both Monty! There are so many I don't have, but I always find a reason to buy more lead/plastic instead..or Vallejo, Andrea, etc etc...lol

I have, in my forgetfulness, managed to order the occasional duplicate triad. Baseball isn't over yet, so we could always do some more tradin'. They sit unopened on the bench. :)

Thanks for the compliment, its good to hear from you as always.

    2. In! Just shoot me an email. Once I was sitting on eBay waiting for the final 3 minutes on a sale on a slightly used set of Foundrys. That was the moment my son's caroling group came up to our house. I stepped away to enjoy the singing and was sniped out of the set. :-(

Also, I must try the Andrea set(s) too. Jason was just raving out them at the SAGA STORM.
